Looking for things to do this Spring Break? If you’re in Florida, you’re in luck – there are endless options when it comes to fun. So we broke it down to 10 South Florida classic destinations that are totally kid-approved.
Let’s dive in and start marking your calendars for some Spring Break fun!
1. Xtreme Action Park
Here at number one is a very popular, adrenaline-packed destination, Xtreme Action Park. Arcades, go-karts, obstacle course, escape room, and rollerblading – ALL IN ONE! “200,000 square feet of fun”…need we say more?
2. Butterfly World
Believe it or not, many people from near and far go out of their way to visit the Butterfly World. Over a thousand butterfly species can be seen here. Birds, gardens, and a bug zoo are also a part of the BW experience. It is absolutely a bucket list location, visit today!
3. Lion Country Safari
Get up close and personal with this drive-thru zoo experience! It’s truly one of a kind. Plus, if you want to get out of the car, Lion Country does offer an adventure park for the kiddos!
4. Frost Museum of Science
A planetarium and aquarium all in one. The building itself is truly a work of art and practically one of the wonders of Miami. The iconic Frost Museum of Science is a must-see and a great indoor activity to keep the kids busy this spring break!
5. Boomers
Boomers in Boca Raton screams fun all day long: mini golf, laser tag, go-karts, and so much more. This is the perfect way to start spring break. It’s great for kids that are at least four and up. Tweens and teens would definitely enjoy this location!
6. Coconut Cove WaterPark
Checkout this awesome water park with water slides, lazy rivers, and water playground. Pretty impressive for water park that’s practically in your backyard (no need to drive to Tampa or Orlando!) This location also offers swim lessons and birthday party rentals.
7. Young at Art
Located at Broward Mall is Young at Art a fun interactive art museum. Kids can have all sorts of messy and creative fun all while learning. Tons of workshops, events, playdates, and exhibits are available here.
8. Gumbo Limbo Nature Center
Just footsteps from the Atlantic Ocean is the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center. Check out all kinds of sea life as well as a butterfly garden trail. And, it’s free of charge. This is a non-profit organization so donations are highly encouraged to keep the preservation of sea life going. Be sure to bring your bug spray!
9. Boca Ice
Who says there’s no snow in Florida? Boca Ice is a brand new, state-of-the-art recreation facility. They offer many programs such as ice skating lessons, ice hockey, ice bumper cars, and open skating. Boca Ice is a great option for staying busy and also trying something new!
10. Miami Children’s Museum
One of my personal favorites is the Miami Children’s Museum. We hosted our son’s 2nd birthday here and it could not have been more epic. MCM is the true definition of a hands-on museum. So if you have little ones that like to touch everything, this is the place to be. It is designed for kids to play and learn all at the same time. Even as an adult, I had a lot of fun. 10 out of 10, I recommend!
