My son had his very first Valentine’s Day card exchange last year and it was so much fun. However, the not-so-fun part… we were just 4 days out from the party. And I learned the hard way… Valentine’s Day exchange cards SELL OUT FAST AND EARLY.

I was a little disappointed (but not surprised) so we went with the only one they had left, it was a shark-themed card. It actually turned out really nice, but it wasn’t my first choice. I told myself that next year, I am going to be “on it” and get these things at least a month early. That’s exactly what I did. In fact, I ordered my son’s cards in December lol. They were in stock and I earned a digital credit for no-rush delivery (thanks Amazon!) Man, that felt good!

Let’s face it, Valentine’s Day is a sleeper. We are so busy in January focusing on our goals, recovering from the holiday, and getting back to work and school. Next thing you know, V-Day is like 2 weeks away. At this point you think you “still have time”, but you really don’t.

I found an excellent solution not just for “last minute” exchange cards, but also for more creative and cost-effective cards. While Target and Walgreens have amazing options, it’s also the same place where everyone else is getting their cards. If you want your cards to stand out, check out my list of adorable valentine’s day cards that you can print right at home.
