Hi, my name is Courtney and I am a burger-holic. 🍔 😬

I finally came to a realization that no matter how hard I try to deny it, burgers are my jam and that’s never going to change (sorry, not sorry). Honestly, I used to be embarrassed that I enjoyed burgers, but now it is something I embrace. In fact, the more I started embracing my passion for patties the more I encountered people who are just like me!

My hubby realizes how much I love burgers and so he takes me to a burger spot every Friday (thank you, honey!) It’s been a tradition since we’ve been married, which we are coming up on 8 years now. Therefore, I have collected an astounding list of the best burgers I have ever had throughout Florida (and few other states like Georgia).

In this post, I am going to give you my sacred list of the best burgers in South Florida. I frequent these locations quite often so I can assure you this is a reliable list!

Bon Appetit!

1. Salt7

32 SE 2nd Ave, Delray Beach, FL 33444

Salt7 Burger + Duck Fat Fries

Salt7 aka The Undefeated. Let me tell you, Salt7 is the best burger in South Florida. And, admittedly, I have had a plethora of burgers in my lifetime so that’s saying something. Let’s start with the name, yes, they use a blend of seven salts to season the steaks. Additionally, they use a unique house blend for the meat. It’s not your traditional backyard burger, it’s nothing like you’ve ever had. I am willing to bet on it. Don’t get me started on the duck fat fries, just pure wow. Chef Paul Niedermann is the mastermind behind Salt7. You may recognize his name as he won the popular reality TV show Hell’s Kitchen. Salt7 now has two locations, one in Delray and a brand new waterfront location in Ft. Lauderdale. Go there today, tell them Courtney sent you!

2. Charm City Burgers

1136 E Hillsboro Blvd, Deerfield Beach, FL 33441

Good Ole Burger @ Charm City

Small, but mighty! Don’t let this shack fool you, there is a reason why the line is out the door here at Charm City. When you walk in, you’ll notice the eclectic and fun atmosphere. Gives you a true beach town vibe when you’re hangry for a burger. Charm City is nestled in a small, but busy shopping plaza right off of Hillsboro in Deerfield Beach. Excellent location for both locals and visitors. Parking can be tight and dining indoors is limited, but trust me, this place is worth a visit.

3. The Wine Room

WRKB Burger @ Wine Room Delray

411 E Atlantic Ave Suite C, Delray Beach, FL 33483

Probably the coolest wine cellar I’ve ever been to (restaurant-wise). The Wine Room is smack dab in the middle of all the action on Atlantic Ave. Like a world of beer but for wine. Really cool concept as they have over 100 wines throughout the entire restaurant. Reservations are highly recommended as they continue to grow in popularity. The Wine Room is not only a great place for wine, but the food here is actually their secret sauce (in my opinion). In fact, I really don’t drink much wine at all, however, when I do indulge it’s usually a dessert red wine like Zinfandel.

Great food, great wine, and great company make for an exceptional time. We’ve brought many of our family and friends here for some double dates and each time has been memorable. I also recommend date night attire. Many of the guests get dressed up (but not too formal). The service is great and the wait staff is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. The food is sourced from all over the world which is why the experience is really incredible. The burger here is unbelievable (and might I add, the charcuterie here is the best, ever).

4. BRGR Stop

4301 Coconut Creek Pkwy, Coconut Creek, FL 33066

Triple Chocolate Milkshake @ BRGR Stop

One of my favorite local joints is the BRGR Stop in Coconut Creek. I love the funky and eclectic atmosphere here. After all, there is a motorcycle hanging from the ceiling and graffiti on the walls (my type of burger joint)! BRGR Stop has an unbelievably great menu – craft burgers, craft brew, and craft milkshakes! My order entails the Under Construction BUrger with the Triple Chocolate Milkshake. Just be sure to ask for the aioli sauce for the fries – you’ll thank me later.

BRGR stop is one of those burger joints that even the kids will enjoy. There’s something here for everyone and it has quickly grown to be a local favorite. Just come as you are (and come hungry)!

5. Tap42

5050 Town Center Cir, Boca Raton, FL 33486

Most people come for the brew, I come for the burgers. Traditionally, most bars have burgers, but this one left me impressed. Tap42 gets its name by offering 42 craft beers on its menu. It’s more of a mature crowd vibe and it gets pretty busy in the evenings and weekends. Because of how noisy it gets, it’s not the best for babies and toddlers (even Yelp agrees). However, if you’re going on a date or hanging with some friends after work – this is the place. For a bar, this is one of the best burgers in town. You won’t be disappointed!

6. Max’s Grille

404 Plaza Real, Boca Raton, FL 33432

Max’s Grille aka “a modern American bistro” is located at the popular shopping destination Mizner Park in Boca Raton. A local favorite by many, Max’s Grille has been in Boca for over 30 years and still going strong. When I took my first bite of The Grille Burger, my eyes lit up. I was blown away by the softness and fluffiness of their challah bun. I later learned that they source the challah buns from a local bakery. As a burger connoisseur, I can tell you that the bun will literally make or break the burger. Always in a hurry to come back for more. Reservations are recommended, this place is booming after 5 PM and on the weekends!

7. Grease Burger

213 Clematis St, West Palm Beach, FL 33401

Classic Cheese @ Grease WPB

Classic burger and milkshake joint, no frills! Grease is a local favorite in downtown West Palm right on Clematis Street where all action happens here. I typically order the Classic Cheese with a pretzel bun upgrade (a must!) Grease prides itself on 120 craft beers (bottle and tap) and 20 flat-screen TVs – the true sports bar and grille! Get shakin’ and head to Grease!

8. Rex Baron

6000 Glades Rd Suite 1229, Boca Raton, FL 33431 (inside Boca Town Center)

The Rex Baron Burger

Rex Baron is a new favorite that we discovered during the pandemic. After the unfortunate closing of ZinBurger in Boca and Sawgrass, we were looking for more burger options. My husband had always wanted to try this location and we had a great opportunity to do so. Addittionaly, Rex Baron also features a Virtual Reality (VR) lounge. Great for birthday parties, corporate events, and families.

The first thing you’ll notice when you walk inside is the Mad Max theme. Throughout the restaurant are numerous busts of decked-out zombies in brand names like Louis Vuitton. It’s got an edgy look-and-feel and, nonetheless, the food is just as impressive. I absolutely heart their Rex Baron burger and fresh hand cut french fries. Hubby always gets the hot lava rock steak (which he can cook to the temp of his liking). Indeed, a unique experience you probably won’t see anywhere else in Florida.

9. Shake Shack

1400 Glades Rd, Boca Raton, FL 33431

“Simple, yet freaking delicious” is the best way I can describe Shake Shack. A popular, fast-casual burger chain that is publicly traded and has locations all over the world. I’ve never been disappointed with a Shack burger, ever. They are wildly consistent and GOOD. The bun is utterly soft and the cheese is perfectly melted on the patty. The only sad part is how quickly my burger vanishes, I usually opt for the double to really satisfy my craving. The chocolate milkshake is pure yum, and you can get it malted too. For a fast-casual joint, honestly, I’m impressed. This place is always packed and for good reason. Truly a great spot for everyone!

P.S. They have a location inside the FLL (Fort Lauderdale) Airport, yay!

10. Burgers, Fries & Pies

33 SE 3rd Ave, Delray Beach, FL 33483 (The Delray Beach Market)

Triple Chocolate Milkshake @ Dad’s Favorite Burgers (Delray Market)

Located at Delray Beach Market (a brand new food court in downtown Delray) is Burgers, Fries & Pies. I was so stocked to see burger and milkshake joint right here on The Ave. While we have some great burger spots already, there weren’t any that offered milkshakes! I can’t count how many times I have frequented this location (too many to admit). It’s just that good. The formula is simple:

100% natural Angus beef + triple chocolate shake = perfection

This place is fun and lively, with music blasting, and dozens of food options. Great for families and visitors. Highly recommend this location!

11. Warren Delray

15084 Lyons Rd Bay 350, Delray Beach, FL 33446

The Damn Good Burger @ Warren Delray

Warren Delray, the “American Whiskey Kitchen”, just opened in the Summer of 2021 in a brand new shopping center I was so excited to take my husband here, as he is a whiskey aficionado. We went for his birthday and it was a cool experience. We sat facing the “Wall of Fame” whiskey library collection which holds about 1,000 bottles. The mood at Warren’s is a dark, speakeasy ambiance.

12. IPIC Theatres

25 SE 4th Ave, Delray Beach, FL 33483

IPIC is the ultimate lux dine-in movie theatre chain. We have been to the IPIC in both Boca and Delray and both of them never disappoint. If “I’m just here for the food” was a person, it would be me because the food here is that delicious. IPIC is great for a premium date night. We get dinner, a movie, a reclining seat, free blankets, and a designated waiter. They have a button on the table you can press if you need immediate service. We absolutely love coming here and we are consistently telling friends and family about this amazing gem. I typically order the Boss Burger and hubby gets the Nachos – oh and you gotta get the parmesan truffle popcorn, yum! Come here for a lovely time and great food.

13. Loch Bar

346 Plaza Real, Boca Raton, FL 33432

Loch Burger and Mac N Cheese

The recurring date night restaurant for the two of us is Loch Burger. It’s the best of both worlds for us as they have delicious burgers and oysters. I am not an oyster person at all, but my husband is. I am always on the hunt for a restaurant with both items on the menu, that way we can both have a happy feast! By the way, their homemade mac and cheese is impressively delicious. I always swap out the fries for this heavenly side dish.

14. Tucker Duke’s

1658 N Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, FL 33432

Tucker Duke’s is a popular joint here in SoFlo. What’s in a name? The restaurant is named after the owner’s dog “Tucker Duke”, sure enough the waitress was right. Tucker Duke’s has two locations, Boca and Deerfield, and I’ve been to both. The ambience is a very laid-back environment where you can kick back with your friends and enjoy a good meal. When we pulled into the parking lot it was jam-packed – always a good sign of an imminent delicious meal.

15. M.E.A.T. Eatery

2831 N Federal Hwy Suite 9, Boca Raton, FL 33431

M.E.A.T. Eatery

Highly acclaimed in the Boca area. Moved from the corporate office and now located in a plaza off of federal for better visibility and foot traffic (and now open on the weekends) The staff here are ridiculously friendly and love what they do. MEAT eatery satisfies the burger and milkshake craving.

16. The Locale Boca

499 S Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, FL 33432

The Locale Burger

We just discovered this adorable beaut of a restaurant. For a few years we’d always drive pass this location and finally one day we decided to give it a try on one of our date days. The Locale Boca is where New American meets Latin cuisine. There is something here for everyone! The ambiance is chic and intimate. Perfect for a date or special occasion. I ordered the Locale burger, of course, hubby ordered shrimp alfredo. He was really impressed with their Old Fashioned Whiskey. One of my favorite dishes here is the The Half Moon dessert!

17. RH (formerly known as Restoration Hardware)

560 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33401

My oh my, what a gorgeous piece of real estate. Restoration Hardware (now called RH), is a retail store with upscale furniture – but they did something brilliant. At select retail locations, you will find that RH has a rooftop restaurant. And it is absolutely, jaw-dropping. The photos do not do it justice, it’s an experience everyone should have.

The rooftop restaurant is chic with an incredible amount of natural light thanks to the skylight roof. Inside are also plants and fountains. I’ve never seen anything like it. Oh, and let’s not forget, the food will have you yearning for more. I know I have been to really beautiful restaurants however the food was just average, but that is certainly not the case at RH. The wine, the burger, the charcuterie board – pure YUM! This perfect romantic getaway is located in the heart of downtown West Palm Beach – this is for sure a bucket list location!

18. 800 Degrees Woodfired Kitchen

2956 Northeast 199th Street, Aventura, FL 33180

800 Degrees Burger + Fries

As you may or may not know, 800 Degrees is co-owned by NBA players Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem. The concept was created by Chef Anthony Carron in the West Coast. Just a few miles north of Miami and footsteps away from the Aventura Mall, 800 Degrees is known for wood-fired menu. I was impressed with DWade’s Woofired American burger upgraded with a side of truffle fries. A delicious meal and I am looking forward to dining here again. Check it out it’s worth a shot!

19. Sugar Factory South Beach

1144A Ocean Dr, Miami Beach, FL 33139

What drew me to Sugar Factory for its upbeat, playful atmosphere and decadent food options. Certainly, a place that both kids and adults can enjoy. The burger here was pretty good, not number one, but not bad either. Paired with an Old Fashioned chocolate milkshake that is forever imprinted in my memory. Sugar Factory’s edge is two things: unusual menu items and a fun ambiance. Yes, it’s kid-friendly in fact there was a four-year-old celebrating her birthday here with her parents. It’s a cool funky spot that everyone should try at least once. Sugar Factory has attracted a bit of attention from celebrities too like the

20. BurgerIM

20449 FL-7 A-5, Boca Raton, FL 33498

BurgerIM in Boca Raton, FL

Fun fact: The first BurgerIM launched in Tel Aviv, Israel! In fact, BurgerIM got its name by combining the words Burger and “-IM” which is the Hebrew suffix for plural. I typically order 3-mini sliders with Angus beef. The buns are soft and the beef is of great quality – always hits the spot! Add on the chocolate milkshake and make it a great day. BurgerIM has grown quite a bit over the years and I am starting to see them all over. Check them out!

BurgerIM Chocolate Milkshake

21. 1000 NORTH

1000 US-1, Jupiter, FL 33477

Prime Burger @ 1000 NORTH

1000 NORTH is a lovely waterfront restaurant with a nice view of the Jupiter lighthouse. Fun Fact: Michael Jordan is one of the founding partners! Yep, that’s right. One of our good friends recommended the restaurant. Together with my in-laws, we hosted Jamison’s birthday dinner here. We had a lovely time and I thoroughly enjoyed the Prime burger! We were told that MJ does frequent this location often, you may just see him here 😉
